Anyone who has an iPhone or laptop has experienced the excruciating agony that accompanies a low battery indicator on the iPhone, iPad or laptop.
OMG, how can I survive without updating my Facebook Wall.
Uh-oh, surely the end of the world!
Not to worry, sweetie.
Bryant Park
Bryant Park in NYC became the first public park in the U.S. to install FREE electrical outlets for visitors to charge their devices.
There are 42 electrical outlets in the park and visitors can plug in laptops, phones and tablets till they juice up.
Sorry, hairdryers not allowed.
Isn’t it wonderful that you can now update us and the rest of the world via Facebook as to what you’ve been up to in the last five minutes without worrying about running out of power!
Starbucks
Yes, I’ve seen several Starbucks coffee shops with electric outlets.
Occasionally, I’ve even charged my dying phones and netbook.
Keep in mind there are not many outlets.
Restaurants
A lot of restaurants have electric outlets where you can charge your phone or netbook for FREE. Sometimes at the counter by requesting the staff.
I’ve charged my phone batteries at Sigma Burger Pie on W.3rd St in Greenwich Village, at Maharaja in Jackson Heights, at Pita Grill 291 Seventh Ave, Saravanaa Bhavan on Lexington Ave, McDonald’s 2nd Ave (at E.6th St), Indus Express (48 W.48th St) in Midtown Manhattan and several other places.
