The great thing about New York City is that there’s room for everyone.
Oh, no, I don’t mean room in merely the physical sense.
I mean there’s an opportunity for survival, for the majority of people that are drawn to the city.
Whether you’re a Ghanian immigrant hustling fake Rolex watches and Rayban shades on Canal St in downtown Manhattan or a Caucasian New Yorker looting millions via shady mortgage deals from the cool corner offices of J.P.Morgan Chase or Citigroup, Gotham has room for everyone.
Walking down Fifth Ave the other day, I spotted a tie vendor selling his wares for a mere $5 each at the corner of 43rd St.
$5 Ties on 5th Ave (at 43rd St)
If I were the tie-wearing kind, I’d have quickly purchased a couple.
But since my sartorial tastes are still in the stone age, I merely lifted my camera, clicked and walked on into the hot NYC summer.
